Known as mitochondria, these combustion chambers are compared to batteries that power vital cellular activities. The mitochondria release these redox molecules to amplify cell signaling throughout the body—a communication vital for health. At that point, they are known as cell signaling molecules. Previously believed just to be a harmless byproduct from producing ATP energy, we now know the combustion process transforms salt water bathing each cell into these critical messenger molecules within fractions of a second.
